Mazzio’s: The Online Ordering Snafu

The Situation:
My complaint is not with the stores themselves, but rather with their website. When are they going to correct the coding behind their online ordering system? It has never calculated order pricing correctly. They must be making a huge profit for every online order made due to these miscalculations in their online ordering process.

Is it prudent for them to correct this issue before someone gets really upset, don't you think?

I think so.

The process:
Simple, you first decide which pizza you want and then you have to admit that most everyone makes some sort of change to the way it is made. In other words you have to customize the ordering process. Whatever is able to be ordered over the phone, or in person, should also be available via the internet. While Mazzio’s does offer an online discount, we will soon see how that is easily whittled away into their own pockets!

The Figures:
Let’s see how it figures out on a four meat medium pizza. Normally it would cost $12.49 plus applicable taxes and delivery fees. Now let’s keep the same number of meats, but put in different values. Change order to read 1 portion each of Italian Sausage and Canadian Bacon and 2 portions of pepperoni. The cost now has been updated to read $15.09. but I like the cheese to be the 4 cheese blend, so we remove the Mozzarella and add the 4 cheese blend. Now lets see what the price is,,, $16.39!!! A total difference of $3.90 WOW What a profit! And they get that for nothing! Except at the expense of their customers!

Now for the SHOCK:
How many orders are placed online in any given day, at only one store?
Let’s place this at an ultra conservative 25 orders per day.

25 orders/day x $3.90 = $97.50 in free money per day at their customers expense.
7 days/week x $97.50 = $682.50 in free money per week at their customers expense.
Call it 52 weeks/year x $682.50 = $35,490.00 a year in FREE money!!! All this from unsuspecting customers!

That is more than what most people make in a year and it’s all FREE! Amazing isn't it!

Now it is easy to see HOW Mazzio’s can contribute over $1,000,000 per year to charities.

It does not cost them anything at all!!!

I think the reason it has not been corrected is because of public complacency and the inability of a company to do the right thing or just plain laziness [this is my line out thought].

I would strongly suggest that they correct the coding on their website.

Please, for the sake of your loyal customer base, fix the code!
